Microblading Overview

Microblading goes by several different names, including; microstroking, brow stroking, brow feathering, eyebrow embroidery, 3D brows, and so many more, but you get the gist! Although there's 1000 different names, it's all the same thing. Microblading fills in those parts of your brows that are sparse. If you want to: add an arch, make them more defined, or maybe you already have amazing brows, but just want them “perfected." Whatever the cause microblading is for everyone, literally.  The procedure is done by using a tiny “blade” that inserts pigment into the base layer of the epidermis though individuals strokes. These strokes mimic that of real life hair strokes. Sounds to good to be true right? Well its not!

Are you a good canidate?

Microblading is not required for anyone who is or has the following:

-Sick with cold, flu, or sinus/respiratory infection (PLEASE reschedule your appointment and stay home to recover!)

-Skin irritations including: sunburn, rash, eczema, shingles, acne, or psoriasis near the treated area

-Pregnant OR nursing

-Under age 18 (16+ may have procedure done, parent must be present and both must have valid IDs)

-Had Botox within 3 weeks from scheduled appointment

-Used Accutane in past year

-Epilepsy

-Diabetes

-Undergoing chemo

-Prone to keloid scarring

-Pacemaker or major heart problems

-Viral infections/diseases

-transmittable blood disease (HIV, Hepatitis)

Microblading requirements pre procedure:

-No Botox 3 weeks prior or 4 weeks after procedure

-No chemical peels 60 days before or after procedure (brows will peel quicker due to chemicals traveling under the skin)

-No Retionals/Retin-A or other anti-aging/acne creams or serums containing acids (these will fade your eyebrows prematurely)

-Do not workout or sweat heavily the day of the procedure (or 2 weeks after)

-Do not tan or have a sunburned face they day of the procedure

-Do not take aspirin, niacin, Vitamin E, or ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure

-No waxing or tinting 3 days before procedure

-No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before procedure

-No fish oil 48 hours before procedure

How long does microblading last?

I, personally, think this is the best part of it all. No, it is not permanent. Its SEMI-Permanent. Depending on your age, skin type, sun exposure, skin regimes, and skin care it will last anywhere from 12-24 months. The two main reasons for this are: the pigment used for microblading has an iron oxide base rather than a carbon base used for permanent cosmetics, and microblading is not planted as deeply into the skin compared to other permanent cosmetic procedures. Fashion changes, and so do eyebrow trends! So, you can always enhance yours according to what's in at the moment!

How much does Microblading cost?

Microblading starts at 400$ This costs include a touchup appointment 6-10 weeks later!

We will also run very frequent specials so keep your eyes peeled for those on social media!

Will my microblading fade?

Due to the fact that this is only a semi-permanent procedure, yes. I recommend a touchup every 8-12 months (which is in my list of procedures as color boost) to maintain your eyebrows and keep the color of each stroke looking vibrant. It's crucial to know that even though over time they do fade they will not turn blue, or pink like the effects that can happen with permanent cosmetics!

Does Microblading hurt?

Keep in mind, everyones “pain” varies and there is not a complete yes or no answer for that. Any pain that was experienced has been compared to a scratch. I will apply a topical anesthetic to provide you with comfort as best as i can for the procedure!

What About Aftercare/Healing?

Day 1:  each hour for the remainder of the day following the procedure use a cotton swab to lightly wipe the procedure area with distilled water (This helps to reduce scabbing by minimizing the accumulation of lymph, which is what the skin excretes to form a scab) * Use a clean finger to lightly apply the after care balm to the procedure area. REMEMBER, this process needs to be done once an hour for the rest of the day!

Days 2-7: -Apply the after care balm only one or two times a day. Itching is likely to occur throughout the early states of the healing process. (most clients typically only use the cream when the are experiencing itching.) Be mindful to limit the application of the aftercare cream to only twice per day to avoid suffocating the skin and interfering with the skins natural healing process. Natural oils are the best!

All 14 days: *** it is CRITICAL to avoid the following during all 14 days after your microblading procedure ***

-touching the eyebrow area except only when following the aftercare instructions for days 1-7

-scratching, picking or peeling the eyebrow area where the microblading occurred to prevent scarring and the pigment from being removed

-sun exposure-tanning beds

-laser or chemical peels, any other form of exfoliation

-exercise- participation in activities that induce perspiration

-long, hot baths or showers. jacuzzis, saunas, swimming

-applying any creams to face or neck area that contain retinol or glycolic acid

-engaging in tasks such as heavy household cleaning where airborne debris can become prevalent

-drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, as it causes wounds to heal slower.

AFTER day 14: Its is now OK to resume all normal activities except use of any creams containing retinal or glycolic acid until your touchup appointment is completed and the healing process as well.

Microblading Healing Timeline:

Day 1: Eyebrows look amazing immediately after microblading appointment!- pigment gradually gets darker throughout the day!

Week 1: Pigment reaches darkest level on day 2 (dont freak out, it wont be this dark forever!) - light scabbing develops where microblading strokes occurred. (it mostly looks like very dry skin, dont pick!)

Week 2: Scabbing from microblading strokes begin to peel and flake off, sometimes revealing no definite visible color in skin (youll be wondering where your eyebrows went, yes this is normal)

week 3-4: Pigment in skin continues to oxidize and micro bladed strokes begin to reappear in color  (YAY!) some strokes come back looking patchy, we'll get those nice and crisp at your touchup!

week 4-6: eyebrows are fully healed and ready for the touchup appointment!  Your brautiful brows wont be complete until after your touchup!
